UPDATE NO. 6 (6:48 p.m. ET): Austin Cook will be the 54-hole leader. He’s 19 under and has a one-shot lead over Andrew Landry and Martin Piller.

UPDATE NO. 5 (5:45 p.m. ET): Martin Piller is 18 under and one back with two to play. He’s making a run at Austin Cook.

UPDATE NO. 4 (4:45 p.m. ET): Austin Cook is in the clubhouse with an 8-under 64 at La Quinta. That has him at 19 under through 54 holes. That’s the clubhouse lead by five shots.

But he’s the co-leader overall, as Jon Rahm is 19 under with six to play on the Stadium Course. Andrew Landry is 18 under in the same position. Phil Mickelson is 4 under with eight to play on the stadium course. At T-105 and four off the projected cut, Mickelson is likely to miss out on Sunday.

UPDATE NO. 3 (3:30 p.m. ET): Austin Cook is hanging onto the lead, but Jon Rahm is charging. Rahmbo is one back.

UPDATE NO. 2 (2:10 p.m. ET): Austin Cook opens in 6-under 30 Saturday – posting birdies at Nos. 4 and 5, an eagle at the sixth, a birdie at No. 7 and another birdie at the ninth. He’s now 17 under and holds a one-shot lead.

UPDATE NO. 1 (12:55 p.m. ET): The final groups are getting underway, but so far no change at the top of the leaderboard.

Phil Mickelson (6 under, T-71) is yet to tee off. Jason Kokrak has moved into a tie for second at 15 under with an early birdie, but otherwise not much is going on.
